Pillow Plate Technology

What is a pillow plate?

A pillow plate is a fully welded heat-transfer element made from two sheets. Laser welding forms a defined internal spot pattern and a sealed boundary. Controlled inflation creates passages between the sheets for a heating or cooling medium.

How it transfers heat

The utility flows through the internal passages while heat passes through the plate wall to or from the surrounding process. The weld pattern, inflation profile, geometry and flow arrangement are selected together to suit the application.

Choosing a configuration

Single embossed plates provide one comparatively smooth side and one expanded side. Double embossed plates expand on both sides and are used as free-standing thermal elements. Formed and custom geometries help integrate the surface into equipment.

Defined by your operating duty

Material, dimensions, weld pattern, connections and operating limits are project-specific. Share your requirement so we can evaluate a suitable TurboPillow configuration.
